Cute Ways to Spoil Your Cat on National Cat Day

Did you know that National Cat Day is coming up October 29th? While we think our feline pals should be celebrated every day, this is a great time to show your furry buddy some extra TLC. Here, a Green Bay, WI vet offers lists some great ways to pamper your cat on National Cat Day.

Playing isn’t just fun for Fluffy: it’s actually great for her, both mentally and physically. Get your kitty some fun new toys to pounce on. You can opt for something classic, like a catnip mouse or a wand toy. Or, get your furry buddy something more modern, like a remote-controlled snake or a mechanical ‘swimming’ fish.

Fluffy can enjoy some canned tuna in water; cooked, plain meat, chicken, or fish, with the bones, skin, and fat removed; sodium-free broth; or some cat milk. Store-bought cat treats are also fine.

It’s no secret that cats are very, very fond of napping. Get Fluffy a comfy new bed to doze off in. (Of course, your pet may ignore this gift and sleep in a shoebox instead, but that’s beside the point.)

If you really want to pamper your pet, get her a new piece of furniture. Cat towers are great, as they give cats a high vantage point, a napping spot, and a nail-care station. They also keep Fluffy active by encouraging her to jump and climb. You can also please your feline overlord with cat walks and pet tents or tunnels.

Veterinary Care

We know, Fluffy would knock this one right off the list if she had a choice. However, no matter what your cat thinks of visiting us, she will be healthier—and therefore happier—with proper veterinary care. Let this be a reminder to schedule her next appointment.

Photo Session

Kitties can really take some adorable photos. Snap a few candid shots of Fluffy just being her adorable self. There’s no such thing as too many cat pictures!

The best way to get Fluffy’s engine started is to simply pay attention to her. Spend time with your cute pet: talk to her, brush her, and let her curl up on your lap. The love of a cat is a truly precious thing!
